True beauty is both timeless and tantalizing. The vast majority of the superyachts afloat possess that first quality but lack the second, while on the other hand most of the recent attempts at deconstructivist superyacht design have that wow-factor, but are sure to become outdated in a few years from conception.
True beauty, we believe, is shaped by the laws of nature. For some reason, it makes sense. It’s an instilled intuition that we all possess.
For the DUNE concept range, we used the wind as our guide as it is nature’s most dynamic and precise sculptor. Our ultimate inspiration, we found in wind-swept dunes and from them we created a refreshingly new and lean design style.
The result is a charismatic yacht that stands out through it’s formal efficiency: each edge or surface playing a role in the overall shape, none of them contrived.
At first glance, the DUNE 75’s shares its powerful and chisseled looks with modernday stealth frigates, but when she finally opens up, there’s a softer, more domestic side that becomes apparent.
Four swingdoor-type terraces can be folded open to create private outdoor space for onboard guests. Two large platforms fold down on eitherside of the main salon to increase the perceived space indoors. At the stern, two large swimdecks fold down at either side of a large patio that’s sheltered from the sun, while at midship there’s a full-width, double-deck tender garage to store even an amphibious aircraft for those with a taste for exploration.
The hull has been designed with an eye on efficiency. It’s slender shape, together with the charismatic inverted bow, reduce the impact of incoming waves and the angle of incidence at which they collide with the bow. At the same time, there’s enough flare on the upper part to reduce pitching and keep the foredeck dry, rendering the vessel safe and comfortable in any wheather conditions.
The titanium-colored roof is a modern interpretation of arabesks and helps to get light in and the heat out of the interior. This results in the boundaries between interior and exterior to become less obvious.
